Upon discovering their daughter's magic at a young age, Surana's family attempted to leave the Denerim alienage to hide their child from the Templars. The attempt failed and Surana was taken to Kinloch Hold. Willing to do just about anything to regain her freedom, Surana eagerly joined the Grey Wardens after her Harrowing.	Being an apostate on the run all her life, Marian resented her magic and most people around her. After the Fereldan army's defeat at Ostagar, she fled to Kirkwall with her family, a decision she later regretted a thousand times over.	Adaar was born in a Tal-Vashoth camp near the Free Marches and only knew the Qun through her parents' chilling tales. She was a hunter who later  joined and befriended the Valo-Kas while working as a mercenary. She is deathly afraid of the Qun and prefers the company of other Vashoth and  humans to that of unfamiliar Qunari.
